2005 National Judges Cup Qualifier

Congratulations to all our Level 7 Judges Cup Qualifier competitors!  This competition was held at San Jose State University on December 11, 2004.  The top 6 gymnasts from the competition move on to the National Judges Cup to be held January 7-9, 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Special congratulations to Emily Gong who finished third over-all and is headed for New Orleans!  She took 1st place in her age division on vault (9.350), floor (9.400), and the all-around (36.825).  Shannon Mohr also finished 1st in her age division on bars (9.500), floor (9.300), and the all-around (36.225).  Shannon's 7th place finish over-all makes her an alternate for the team and will also be going to New Orleans.  Megan DeLallo and Lauren Evashenk both finished 3rd all-around in their age divisions.  Madeline Kennedy, Marissa Vargas, Angela Pontes, Kelsy Tucker, Katie Osaki, Krista Trim, and Sidnee Honeywood also had a great first competition!  Congratulations again!


National Judges Cup Competition

The National Judges Cup was held January 7-9, 2005 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Emily Gong placed 1st on floor with a 9.575, 3rd on beam with a 9.400 and 5th all-around with a score of 37.325 in her age division.  The northern California team took 1st place for the 5th time.  Shannon Mohr took 1st place on vault with a 9.600, 1st on bars with a 9.600 and 1st all-around with a score of 37.900 in her age division.  Great job girls!


4th Annual Roseville Invitational

Another great meet for our level 7 and 8 gymnasts.  The competition was held January 8-9, 2005 at the Arena Softball complex in Roseville, Ca. hosted by Byers Roseville.  In the level 7 competition Megan Delallo placed 2nd on uneven bars and in the all-around in her age division; Madeline Kennedy placed 1st on uneven bars and the all-around; Katie Osaki placed 2nd on floor and 5th in the all-around; Marissa Vargas placed 1st on vault, uneven bars, floor and 2nd on balance beam and 1st in the all-around; Angela Pontes placed 1st on balance beam and 3rd in the all-around; Lauren Evashenk placed 3rd on balance beam; Krista Trim placed 4th on vault; and Sidnee Honeywood placed 7th on floor.  Our level 7 gymnasts placed 2nd in the team competition.

Our level 8 gymnasts did a great job as well.  Kristi Gallagher placed 1st on vault and beam to claim 1st place in the all-around; Briana Bradley placed 3rd on floor, and Kelsy Tucker placed 2nd on vault.

Our level 10 gymnasts started the weekend off well for us on Saturday.  We swept the junior age division with Katelyn Mohr placing 1st on vault, bars, beam and the all-around; Jessica Mathews placing 2nd on vault and beam and the all-around; Michaela Guillory tied with Jessica on vault, 1st on floor and 3rd in the all-around;  and Lauren Eller placing 2nd on bars and floor and 4th in the all-around.  In the senior age division Maranda Smith placed 1st on vault, bars and the all-around;  Nicola Cashman placed 1st on beam, 2nd on bars and the all-around; Tanya Ho placed 3rd on vault and 4th in the all-around; and Stephanie Carter placed 2nd on vault, 3rd on beam and 5th in the all-around.  Our level 10 gymnasts took 1st place team all-around by 10.850 points!  WOW!

Level 7 & 8 Team


2005 WOGA Classic

Our Level 7, 8, & 10 gymnasts traveled to Texas for the WOGA Classic held January 14-16, 2005 at WOGA - World Olympic Gymnastics Academy home of Carly Patterson.  The girls had tough competition in Texas - or is it that everyone else in Texas had tough competition with us there?  The girls did a great job, read below for the results of the WOGA Classic.

 

Level 7

Megan Delallo placed 4th on bars (9.625), 5th on beam (9.600) and 6th all-around (37.600); Marissa Vargas placed 3rd on vault (9.450), 3rd on bars (9.625) and 1st all-around (37.600); Angela Pontes placed 1st on beam (9.425), 4th on vault (9.400) and 3rd all-around (37.450); Lauren Evashenk placed 4th on beam (9.250) and 5th all-around (36.750); Katie Osaki placed 5th on bars (9.275) and floor (9.450) and 6th all-around (36.525); Sidnee Honeywood placed 11th all-around (35.350) and Krista Trim placed 12th all-around (35.175).  As a team, the girls placed 3rd in their session. Congratulations!

 

Level 8

Briana Bradley placed 3rd on bars (9.300), 4th on floor (9.450) and 3rd all-around (37.075); Emily Gong placed 1st on vault (9.400) and 5th all-around (36.750); Shannon Mohr place 1st on bars (9.450); Kelsy Tucker placed 3rd on beam (9.300) and 4th all-around (36.550); Kristi Gallagher placed 6th all-around (35.500).  As team, the girls placed 4th.  Congratulations!

 

Level 10

Katelyn Mohr placed 2nd on vault and all-around in her age division with 9.500 and 36.700 respectively.  Maranda Smith placed 2nd on floor (9.500), 3rd on vault (9.400) and 5th all-around (36.000); Tanya Ho placed 7th all-around (353.750); Lauren Eller placed 7th all-around (35.350); Michaela Guillory placed 10th all-around; Jessica Mathews placed 4th on vault (9.200) and 9th all-around (35.600); Nicola Cashman placed 2nd on floor (9.500) and 10th all-around (35.575); Stephanie Carter placed 2nd on bars (9.200) and 11th all-around.  As a team, the level 10 gymnasts took 2nd place.  Congratulations!

 


 

2005 Golden State Classic

 

WOW! What a weekend our level 7, 8 and 10 gymnasts had!  Although there was a fall here or there, all three teams managed to bring the 1st place trophy home!  Here are the results from the 2005 Golden State Classic held at Technique Gymnastics January 29-30:

Megan Delallo placed 2nd all-around (36.175) in her age division and placed 2nd on bars (9.350), beam (9.150), and floor (9.075); Madeline Kennedy placed 1st all-around (36.475), 2nd on bars (9.450), 1st on beam (9.175) and 3rd on floor (9.075); Katie Osaki placed 3rd all-around (36.100), 2nd on floor (9.100), 4th on vault (9.125) and bars (9.275); Krista Trim placed 7th all-around (34.425), 1st on floor (9.150) and 3rd on vault (9.150); Angela Pontes place 1st all-around (36.025), 1st on vault and floor scoring 9.350 on both events, 2nd on beam (8.650) and 3rd on bars (8.675); Lauren Evashenk placed 2nd all-around (35.225), 2nd on bars (9.000), 4th on vault (9.200) and floor (9.075); Sidnee Honeywood placed 7th all-around (33.200), 2nd on beam (8.650) and 3rd on floor (9.100).

LEVEL 7 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Our level 7 gymnasts competed in their last meet of the season at the Level 7 State Championships. This meet was held March 19-20 in Visalia, California and was hosted by the Central California Gymnastics Institute.  Our girls finished their season off with a great meet and, of course, did very well. 

 

Angela Pontes placed 4th on floor and 5th in the all-around; Sidnee Honeywood placed 3rd on floor; Lauren Evashenk was the STATE BEAM CHAMPION, placed 2nd on floor and was the STATE ALL-AROUND CHAMPION; Katie Osaki placed 2nd on beam, Madeline Kennedy placed 3rd on beam and was the STATE UNEVEN BARS CHAMPION, Krista Trim placed 2nd on floor and Megan Delallo placed 2nd on beam and was 3rd on bars, floor and in the all-around.


LEVEL 10 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

ALL OF OUR LEVEL 10 GYMNASTS QUALIFIED TO THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!  The State Championships took place on April 2 - 3 at Sacramento State University and our gymnasts did great.  They all had to compete well enough to qualify onto the Regional Championships which will be held at the Reno Hilton on April 15, 16, 17.  At the Regional Championships, these fine young gymnasts must qualify to compete in the Junior Olympic National Championships which will be held in Ontario, California May 6,7,8.  Special mention from the State Meet:

 

   Lauren Eller:   STATE ALL-AROUND CHAMPION

Katelyn Mohr:  Vault champion, and 3rd in the all-around

Michaela Guillory:  Uneven Bars champion

Maranda Smith:  Vault and Uneven bars champion + 2nd in the all-around

Stephanie Carter:  3rd on beam and floor

Nicola Cashman:  2nd on beam

Tanya Ho:  Uneven Bars champion + 2nd in the all-around

LEVEL 8 STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

ALL OF OUR LEVEL 8 GYMNASTS QUALIFIED TO THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!  The level 8 State Championships took place on April 9/10 at San Jose State.  Our girls competed very strongly with all of them succeeding onto the next competition.  The Regional Championships will be held April 22 - 24 in Long Beach, CA.  Good Luck to all of them.  Special mention from the State Meet:

LEVEL 10 REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

We qualified 5 gymnasts to the Junior Olympic National Championships - the most gymnasts from one club in the Northern California Area!  What a great meet we had with all of our gymnasts.  Unfortunately, not everyone qualified but they all did their best.  The Junior Olympic National Championships will be held in Ontario, California on May 13-15.  This is the last meet of the season so Good Luck to all of them and lets have some fun!.  Special mention from the Regional Championships:

Maranda Smith:  Regional Floor Champion + 2nd on vault + 2nd on bars + 2nd in the all-around

Stephanie Carter:  4th on vault + 4th on bars + 7th in the all-around

Nicola Cashman:  5th on beam + 9th on floor

Tanya Ho:  4th on vault + 7th on floor + 7th in the all-around

Jessica Mathews:  8th on vault

Lauren Eller:  6th on vault + 2nd on floor

Michaela Guillory:  3rd on bars + 6th on vault + 6th in the all-around

2005 REGION ONE LEVEL 8 REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Boy oh boy, do we ever have a strong bunch of level 8 gymnasts.  This meet was the last meet of the season for our level 8 gymnasts on April 22-24th in Long Beach, CA.  Our girls, once again, represented our gym in superb fashion - check out these results: 

Emily Gong:  Level 8 Regional All-Around Champion + Beam champion

Kristi Gallagher:  3rd in the all-around + 3rd on beam

Shannon Mohr:  3rd on bars and beam + 4th in the all-around

Kelsy Tucker:  7th on vault and 8th on floor

 


2005 JUNIOR OLYMPICS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

 

Nationals is always exciting.  The best gymnasts in the country are all together at the same time demonstrating all of their unique talents.  Nationals were held in Ontario, California May 12 - 15.  We had 5 gymnasts qualify with one alternate (THE MOST IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!).

Stephanie Carter:  5th place on bars and 8th on vault
